 Christmas is coming and you can get your gifts at the Jacaranda Christmas Fair!

 Make a date to meet a friend!  We will be serving morning coffee for the early birds, lunch around the pool, afternoon tea and a wind bar open all day! 

On Wed. 7th from 5-8pm we will have the official opening of Julie Oakes Exhibition.

Other artists on view will be Lynn and Holly Parotti and Bernard Petit.

There will be an interesting selection of gifts on sale to help with your Christmas shopping!

Parking available in the courtyard and short term up at the Post Office.

Julie Oakes is an accomplished artist of intentional standing. This exciting exhibition of  8 extraordinary panels, beautifully drawn and executed,  will be on view and available for sale, at Jacaranda until Dec. 16th.  It opens during the Christmas Fair, and runs along side the Parotti Exhibition.  To find out more, please come and see them!

Bahamas International Film Festival (BIFF) Fundraiser

The eight edition of the Bahamas International Film Festival (BIFF) is set for December 1st to 4th, 2011 in Nassau. BIFF is very much looking forward to welcoming film industry professionals, emerging filmmakers and international visitors.

You are invited to support and attend an all important fundraiser, BIFF’s “Black & White Masquerade Gala” to be held at Jacaranda House (Parliament Street North) on Saturday, October 1st starting at 7pm.

Masks are obligatory, and if you do not have one they will be available for purchase at the BIFF office and are created by a local artist.

The evening will start 7pm and is expected to be a lively event with live entertainment and a DJ until late. A minimum donation of $ 75 is expected and this includes 2 complimentary Cocktails and Canapes by by ALEXANDRA Catering.

The Bahamas International Film Festival is a non-profit organization dedicated to providing the local Bahamian community and international visitors with a diverse presentation of films from around the world. In addition to offering films that might not otherwise be released theatrically in the Bahamas, BIFF will provide a unique cultural experience and set of educational programs and forums for exploring the past, present and future of cinema.

Over the last 7 years BIFF has developed into a prestigious and well-respected event throughout the Bahamas and around the world. Career Achievement Awards over the years have gone to Johnny Depp, Laurence Fishburne, Daryl Hannah, Nicolas Cage, Roger Corman, and Alan Arkin. BIFF has also had the privilege to honour Hollywood’s Rising Stars, Anna Faris, Naomie Harris, and Sophie Okonedo.
